Major McCreight, born at the end of the Civil War in Reynoldsville, PA, spending his formative years in the wilderness, he went to the West looking for adventure, and a developer of DuBois, through banking and community interests, and helping to preserve the last virgin timber standing in the area. He always felt his greatest achievement was becoming a chief of the Sioux Indians.
